Macaron Madness

This post is for all the Macaron lovers out there...

The Macaron (or Macaroon as we call it in Australia) is taking the world by storm! Everywhere I look I see a deliciously colourful Macaron just asking me to be eaten, or a new book about Macarons.

You have to check out Macaron Parlour‘s pop-up shop at Henri Bendel! Exclusive to Henri Bendel – a champagne infused macaroon. How delicious!! (Not to mention all the other beautiful things from Henri Bendel NYC......)

Macaron Parlour aims to "expand macarons offerings beyond traditional fillings. While playing homage to buttercreams and ganaches, they also dabble with savory and frozen dessert fillings, even a candied bacon with maple cream cheese frosting!" Macaron Parlour also has a blog if you are interested to know how Macarons are made http://macaronparlour.blogspot.com/

Laduree would have to be the most beautiful Macaron store I have seen online. The small, round cakes, crisp on the outside, smooth and soft in the middle, are the most famous creation of Ladurée. "The pastry chefs measure out very precisely the required amounts of almonds, eggs and sugar, before adding one final ingredient, a pinch of unique “know-how”, essential to the making of such a delicacy. Once cooked and filled, the macaroons are put to one side for 2 days before going on sale, the time it takes to achieve a perfect balance between texture and flavour". Laduree

I am officially in love with Macarons, the way they taste and the way they look. They make a perfect treat to take when visiting friends or as a gift too.

Happy Macaron Madness
