Welcoming our April 'Guest Blogger' Samantha Saunders to eat read love to share some fabulous foodie finds from the beautiful culinary heartland of Canada - Vancouver British ColumbiaAfter living in Vancouver for three years, and a recent trip back, Sam loves that Vancouver is such a cosmopolitan city, yet right on nature's doorstep - close to beautiful wineries, some of the world's best skiing, and amazing food markets. Fabulous local produce is presented skilfully by world class chefs. "There is a very active foodie scene in Vancouver and a diverse range of cuisines from around the globe - a strong Asian influence as well as North & South American influences too'. says Sam.

Lucky for us Sam has kindly shared her 'must do' list - a little taste of the wonderful culinary delights the British Columbia region of Canada has to offer.
  • Granville Island Market - open every day, on the water, right in the city, local produce of all kinds as well as local artisan's products, casual dining and popular restaurants.
  • Edible Canada is the new 'it' place to eat, and they even have gourmet Kayaking tours - gourmet catering on the neighbouring Gulf Islands (between Vancouver and Vancouver Island).
  • Foodtrucks: the new trendy thing in Vancouver (also SFO, Seattle) a huge variety of great quality take away roaming the streets of downtown and beyond. New locations are tweeted each day. Licenses are hotly contested when released by the best Vancouver restaurants. Popular 'Japadog' serves hot dogs with a Japanese flavour
  • The Okanagan is the major wine region - about 4 hours east of Vancouver. Beautiful, surprisingly excellent wines, however they only have small stocks to ensure most never leave British Columbia. Another good reason to go and visit!
  • The Cliffwalk at Capilano Suspension Bridge is on the North Shore of Vancouver, 15 mins from downtown.
The good news is that if you visit www.becuriousinbc.com before April 13 midnight you might just win a trip for 4 to British Columbia this Summer to experience it all for yourself. Hurry up you don't have much time left to enter.
