Inspirational Photography for a Cause

Lilli Waters is this month's featured artist on the blog. I was so moved when I received these stunning photographs of Australian women, and even more thrilled when I realised that they will be exhibited in Melbourne in May to support a great cause. 

SHE RAW is a unique initiative to create awareness and help prevent violence against women.  Australian photographer Lilli Waters has taken 41 amazing portraits of women from very diverse backgrounds and all walks of life in her first solo exhibition - She Raw. The exhibition documents everyday women within a state of fantasy whilst drawing from their everyday experiences. As with “women who run with wolves” these women roar. The stunning portraits uncover some engaging, mysteries and complex persona's of Lilli’s subjects including musicians, stay-at-home mothers, artists and health professionals. 

On the 3rd of May 2012 atBlak Dot Gallery in Melbourne, will host a gala event showcasing artist Lilli Waters debut exhibition. What I love about this exhibition, apart from the absolutely dreamy photography, is that instead of making her debut about her personal achievement, Lilli is dedicating the exhibition to The White Ribbon Foundation to promote ending violence against women.
