Free Range Living*
Looking for a unique weekend day trip with the family. How about indulging in a little 'Free Range Living' creativity by the beach at one of Sydney's best kept secrets? Silverbeach in Kurnell is one of my favourite places to chill out with a coffee and definitely one of Sydney's best kept secrets. This little hidden gem offers a unique day trip for 'Sydneysiders' and 'South Coasters' alike, and only a short drive for Cronulla locals. You can also plan your visit to this lovely part of the world around one of the new creative workshops on offer at Free Range living. Such a lovely idea to indulge in a little creativity for yourself or with your kids.
Free Range Living is not only a lovely local emporium of Australian made gifts, fashion, homewares and fine foods, it is also a creative learning environment that will inspire all who visit. With a variety of fun, creative programmes for adults and children, designed to develop and enhance skills in hand and machine sewing and contemporary hand crafts in a therapeutic, fun and social environment. The philosophy of sisters Deni Fowle and Loren Zoka, the creative minds behind Free Range Living, is to ensure that participants feel inspired and empowered and believe in their ability to create and express themselves. Deni, an adolescent Psychologist loves the welcome change that FRL brings, while for Loren, an Interior Designer, FRL is the perfect opportunity to keep her creative juices flowing.

"We love building relationships with our designers who showcase their products in the emporium, and many of them also are involved in our creative programmes, offering specialist workshops" says Deni
I was so excited to find out about the Kids CreativiTea Parties - such a nice way for kids to learn and interact! We all know that kids spend way too many hours in uninspiring activities and not enough hours playing and being creative. I am so passionate about any programs that give families the creative skills they can access later, in quiet times at home, for relaxation or as a boredom buster, always bringing joy and a sense of achievement. The Kids CreativiTea Parties are a great way to get a group of your child's friends together, to celebrate a special occasion, with some fun contemporary handcrafts projects served up with yummy afternoon tea.
This post wouldn't be complete without a mention of the nearby eats, reads & loves in the area. When you have finished your creative workshop you can grab a coffee and gelato at next doors Endeavour Cafe and Gelato Bar, pop in and visit the Kurnell Art Gallery, take a stroll along the sparkling Silver Beach and maybe even catch some whale watching on a walk through the National Park. Free Range Living is located just opposite the entrance to Kamay Botany Bay National Park, the first landing place of Captain James Cook in 1770. Book your workshop and make a day to visit, take the family for a picnic, a swim in the Bay and a bike ride through the National Park!
