Hello May is Australia’s newest online wedding portal – a cosy little destination consisting of a blog, magazine and directory – and a breath of fresh air in the wedding industry! Hello May is for the bride and groom who want their own special day to be... well, just that... their ‘own’. You won’t find cookie-cutter centerpieces, chair covers or clichés at Hello May weddings – just whimsical, creative, fun and quirky individuality. The pictures above are just a taste of what you can expect from Hello May...
With one half of the Hello May team, Sophie Lord, a very talented industry vendor herself, running a small stationery design business, "we’ve always been all for supporting local business, particularly as so many of us can’t afford the astronomical print magazine advertising rates or aren’t keen on the ‘set it and forget it’ directories available! Soph started blogging about talented industry friends on her own website’s news page and soon compiled a “We Recommend” list down the side. A simple list of industry vendors who I knew were insanely awesome at what they did. The feedback and attention this page received blew everyone away and brides were emailing Soph daily to say thank you. "Before I knew it I had 60,000 hits in 12 months, all for a tiny stationery design business with little promotion.” Clearly there was a need for a simple yet quirky directory that not only had trusted and talented vendors on their pages but SUPPORTED them on a regular basis. ...And so, the idea for Hello May was born.
We are thrilled to welcome Hello May to the blog and of course wish the gorgeous Soph and team every success, of course don't expect anything less than gorgeous!! Issue #1 is now online ready to read....
