Take a Seat for Legacy – A Temple & Webster Initiative

40 original chairs designed and created by key Australian personalities from the worlds of television, radio, sport, fashion, design, and interiors, will go on public display at The Grounds of Alexandria on the weekend of the 24th-26th October. Following the success of last year’s initiative, the chairs, which will be placed among the gardens of the destination Sydney eatery, form part of a unique exhibition and sale in aid of iconic charity, Legacy Australia. Devised by leading online homewares retailer Temple & Webster, the Take A Seat campaign aims to raise awareness and provide vital funds to support the families of Australian Defence Force personnel.

Visitors to the Take A Seat for Legacy Exhibition presented by Temple & Webster will get the chance to view a range of unique and stunning chairs, conceived and created by personalities such as James Gordon, Sibella Court, Mr Jason Grant, Megan Morton, Tim Cahill, Paul Hogan, Johanna Griggs, Melissa Doyle, Rebecca Judd, John Sutton, Todd McKenney, Magdalena Roze, Donna Hay,  Vince Frost, The Grounds favourite Kevin Bacon and many more.

For those wanting to take their favourite creation home with them, the chairs will be available to purchase at Temple & Webster

The sale will run from 7pm Wednesday 22nd October until 11pm Thursday 30th October, with 100% of proceeds going to Legacy.

Legacy supports the families of veterans who have given the ultimate sacrifice from all wars and conflicts and for the families of members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) who are incapacitated or suffer from psychological issues.

My favourite in the collection is 'SEAt’ by James Gordon (above)

For the second year in a row, gorgeous artist and creative genius James Gordon has lent his support to a charity close to his heart. “It’s a play on words “SEAt” and that’s about it! The fact that I love the ocean and things of the sea is probably something that influenced the end result, however it’s fairly much the word. My chair is made from French paper, perspex rod, watercolour, nylon thread and ‘unreal’ pearl.”
