Hampton's Style at The Fish Shop Potts Point

I always imagine visiting the Hampton's. So many of my favourite TV Shows and books are based there. The Hampton's Style interiors are dreamy to say the least. I visualise green leafy streets, white washed homes and village bakeries & boutiques for the rich and famous. If you love Hampton's Style, but a visit is just a dream for now, perhaps I can inspire your escape to The Hampton's in our very own city of Sydney.

I recently popped in to say hi to the team at The Fish Shop, another of Merivale's brilliant venues, for a spot of weekday dining and to check out these famous Fish and Chips I have been hearing so much about. Inspired by Cape Cod, The Hampton's, Nantucket, imagine a white-washed slice of classic seaside Americana in the heart of Potts Point, Sydney. "Executive Head Chef Jeremy Strode of Bistrode CBD fame has done for fish and chips what El Loco did for tacos". Here there is a relaxed vibe, a place to connect with Potts Point locals and travellers alike, a place to enjoy fresh, locally caught, mouth wateringly prepared fish with ice cold beer. You can even choose from organic to natural and bio-dynamic Australian wines. Drop a line at the Amateur Fishing Club Bar to sample the top class drinks menu. The fresh new garfish offering is a standout, and of course you can't go past the classic cheeseburger.

The Fish Shop is casual and classy, a place where you can pull up a stool and enjoy your fish and chips or grab take away lunch if you’re on the go. After lunch or dinner you can wander around vibrant Pott's point for a spot of coffee (Coffee, Tea and Me is great), people watching or cocktail sipping.

This month March into Merivale returns with a jam-packed line up of events, dinners, festivals and more to suit singles, couples and families alike. Throughout the month of March prepare to live an idyllic lifestyle all week no matter your taste, budget or appetite.
