WEEKEND // Top Sydney Weekend + Boat Harbour Picnic

Top Sydney Weekend Adventures: Boat Harbour Picnic // Weekends are to be savoured, and after busy working weeks we love to pack up the car and take refuge at one of our favourite local beaches. Boat Harbour (near Kurnell in Sydney's South) is a top spot for a picnic, a surf, a swim or just to chill out with friends and let the kids run around and let off some steam, with the sun on their back and the sand beneath their feet. The beauty of Boat Harbour is that you can drive your car (if you have an All Wheel or 4WD) along the sand and park right on the beach, so it is perfect for a quick morning swim + surf or a long afternoon picnic. Weekends in Summer at Boat Harbour can be chaotic and crowded (mid week is usually much nicer) but fortunately for us, it is still a bit chilly in the water and the waves were small, so we only had to share the beach with a few other sand loving souls on Sunday. We loaded the boot with surfboards and some picnic goodies and off we went. My two little helpers found the perfect vantage point to send their new high tech paper planes soaring, and I found refuge on the picnic blanket with some new mags and the kindle.

Earlier this year I was nominated as one of the Top 100 Voices of 2015 by Kidspot, and as part of this I have been so fortunate to get to enjoy some fabulous and unique experiences to share on the blog. Ford Australia have been incredibly generous giving me and a handful of other fabulous lifestyle bloggers a brand new Ford Kuga MKII Titanium to test drive for a couple of months. It has been a real treat, and I am not sure how I will return to my little old silver car, that is green with envy sitting patiently in the driveway wondering why I have taken such a shine to my fancier, shinier new wheels. So of course when the sun came out on Sunday it was time to take my 'new wheels' for a spin at our favourite local 4WD beach.

A big thanks to Ford Australia for the Ford Kuga MKII Titanium and supporting some wonderful eat read love weekend adventures. I have grown to love a few favourite features, especially the hands free power tailgate (yep you just wave your foot under the bumper and the boot lifts up), hands free phone sync, seat warmers, push button start stop and of course a very generous sunroof.  From Coast to Country we have enjoyed some great times already (here is a recap of our last adventure to The Pill Factory in Bundanoon) and we will be getting on the road again this weekend, heading up to Avoca this weekend for some girly School Mums pampering!
