The Whistling Fish
Always in search of gorgeous bookshop cafes, I found this little beauty in the latest edition of Country Style Magazine. I have never been to the Whistling Fish Cafe in Robe, but next time I visit South Australia this will be on my must do list.
Robe is an historic little seaside town on South Australia's magnificent Limestone Coast. This charming and eclectic bookshop is housed within a heritage listed stone wool shed on site, built circa 1850’s. In summer you can enjoy lovely events like book signings and book clubs in the wonderful garden. In the winter months, the bookshop offers a more relaxed, cosy and intimate space to read and sip coffee by the fire.
My favourite thing about this little haven is the Review Table concept. Wrapped in string with their own shipping tag, these special books have been hand picked by the owners for quick and easy reference. Honestly and lovingly critiqued, the review table books are worthy of any home library collection or a gift for someone special.
If you love a good bookshop cafe like me, then The Whistling Fish Cafe looks like the perfect place to eat, read and love...
EAT: Locally roasted coffee & boutique tea with home baked goods in the cafe
READ: the carefully selected books from the 'Review Table'
LOVE: located within the grounds of Grey Masts cottage, historic B&B accommodation.
