Otford Valley Sanctuary - Day Spa
Photos by Natalie Hayllar {eat read love}
The Royal National Park and surrounds has so much to offer for a weekend day trip.
PAMPER: If you are in need of a little pampering, why not head south of Sydney (or north of 'The Gong') to one of my favourite hidden gems - Otford Valley Sanctuary. A contemporary day spa nestled in Otford's tranquil valley. The lovely owner Lisa McKinlay has created a beautiful haven for ladies only, and the treatments are just divine! On the fringe of the splendid Royal National Park, this is a special place to escape the city and unwind. You can sit around in your robe with a girlfriends, quietly sipping green tea, chocolate brownies and catching up on magazines between treatments. Such a nice thing to do with a friend, sister or mum for a special occasion. Trust me, you will be so relaxed afterwards that you will need a post pamper wake up. EAT: I suggest a caffeine hit at 16 Feet Espresso, a funky little cafe in Stanwell park. The view from the top of Stanwell's Bald Hill (pictured) has got to be one of the best in NSW! LOVE: If you are driving back to Sydney and have some time take the tourist drive through the Royal National Park. Stunning dappled light, rainforest's canopies and loads of peaceful picnic spots to enjoy. Oh and if you have plenty of time I suggest a little tea stop at the Weir Cafe in Audley, a seriously sweet new place for high tea, and you drive right past it.
