Enchanting afternoon tea by the sea at Miremont, Biarritz
My food tour of France continues. This is a place worth sharing - the beautiful and elegant Miremont Patisserie in Biarritz. Founded in 1872 by a young confectioner Etienne Singher from Saint Moritz and then aquired by Joseph Miremont in 1880 a beautiful place for tea for Biarritz - once known as the 'Queen of resorts and resort for Kings'.  Apparently King Edward VII of England would stay every year at the Hotel du Palais but would remain faithful to the Miremont patisserie. The Miremont site, set on two cosy floors, is such a special place to enjoy afternoon tea, with sweeping ocean views from every table and huge crystal chandeliers. The site is French heritage listed and just like it was back then, Miremont remains one of the most charming and elegant places to enjoy a fine tea, coffee and pastry in France. My Chocolate Caramel Dome with raspberry macaron on top was so perfect and glossy I could even see my reflection in it. Just another reason to love all things French....Natalie x
