Where to stay in Biarritz...?
Looking for a very cool and unique holiday apartment in Biarritz, France?
If you are looking for somewhere really special and totally unique to stay to explore the Basque region of France then read along. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely architecturally designed apartment in the heart of Biarritz in the South West of France. Right in Place Saint Eugenie and a short 100m stroll to the beach. I could never get tired of the lovely view from the loft windows across the Place Saint Eugenie and down to the cathedral both night and day. The apartment is decorated in bright bold colours, fabulous spotlights on exposed timber beams, a secret loft/reading room for the kids which could also second as a third bedroom, and really funky interiors and kitchen accessories. The owner Frederique has thought of everything you could ever need for your holiday and has such a great eye for interior design. Loft windows, soft lighting, fresh linens, fast wifi and air-con, double bathroom with a huge shower, even fluoro green and orange basins that light up when you walk in! The bamboo chairs in the master bedroom (pictured above) were my favourite feature and the kids loved their beach themed loft bedroom too. This place is great for families with young kids, or a couple wanting a beach side escape, close to all the lovely restaurants and bars and handy to Carrafour for baguette, wine and cheese supplies. My absolutely favourite patisserie Miremont is in the same street as the apartment, and Hotel & Cafe Palacito was my pick for a morning shot of coffee before hitting the shops. I ran out of time but I have been told that nearby Comptoir Foie Gras and Bar Jean were great local bars for Basque delights. Also a great place to stay if you are ever 'en route' to Hossegor for the annual Quiksilver Pro France surfing tour.
Thank you Frederique for being a wonderful host to us in Biarritz. If you would like to rent the apartment go to
