Megan Morton The School hosts the Festival of Jewels - a wonderful 50th celebration for a very special lady.  Julie Gibbs (of Lantern Books and Penguin Books fame) kicked off her milestone Birthday celebrations (#thefestivalofjewels) in true bookish style with our very gracious host Megan Morton The School and special guest paper artist 'Jimmie' James Gordon. Vintage books, book loving ladies, cake, cake and more cake, and craft upstairs at The School... what more could a girl ask for?

Julie's Instagram community #Book_Chat has been a constant source of inspiration for me when looking for great new reads, and it is so great to connect with fellow book lovers through this little online community. Even better when you get to meet and spend the afternoon in person. This is why I love Instagram! It really does bring people together, who perhaps may never had met otherwise. Oh and did I mention the CAKE by Nadean Ingram of Flour & Stone fame. Only a few crumbs were left to tell the tale.

It was a special day indeed, beautifully captured on camera by Chloe Ferres with the most gorgeous Bookish table styling by Megan Morton and paper jewel craft direction from Jimmie G. It was a joy to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones too. Thank you Julie for inviting me to be part of your bookish birthday magic. And don't forget The School has a fabulous upstairs space perfect for private parties and functions.
