The Bathing Boxes, Mornington Peninsula

The Colourful Bathing Boxes of the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.
We just loved the colourful Bathing Boxes scattered along the beaches of the Mornington Peninsula. These rainbow coloured boxes are technically no more than a shed, and many have been passed down through generations of families of Port Phillip bay, remaining in high demand. The iconic sheds symbolise Victorian summers and continue to be a firm favourites for tourists and locals alike, scattered along the coast from Portsea to Rosebud, Dromana and Rye. These photos were taken at Safety Beach - apparently it used to be called Shark beach! No wonder they changed the name. No one ever swam there. Just one of the many beautiful things to see in Victoria. For details on where to stay check out my posts on the fabulous Flinders Hotel and seaside haven at Flinders Beach Shack.
