ici et la if you are looking for a little taste of France to style your home or garden, then this is the place.  This fabulous little find in the leafy backstreets of Surry Hills has an amazing collection of summer stripy deck-chairs, french furniture, signature striped fabric, rustic lounges, industrial lights and charming individual objects that will add a talking point to any room in your home. Wandering through the store, it is hard to know where to start, with gorgeous and individual pieces in every corner.

The vibrant signature stripes of ici et la (means 'here and there' in French) can be seen hanging on the brick wall from Devonshire Street. These colourful stripes feature throughout the store, on chairs, lounges cushions and fabrics, and remind me of my time in the Basque region of France.

"The natural colour of our cotton is off-white. Its coloration, specific to Les Toiles du Soleil, comes from a staining process named "grand teint". This quality of dyeing guarantees a better hold of the colours. We have two types of canvas available: 100% cotton and a non-fading synthetic range. ici et la"

A great mate (from JWC Building) who does amazing renovations in the Surry Hills area, is a big fan of the silver industrial lights when fitting out his jobs. He rang me to tell me about this fantastic store he had found in Surry Hills...I knew straight away he was talking about ici et la. We have the same taste!

After you have spent lots and lots of time choosing your favourite pieces to take home, you can stop by the Bourke Street Bakery just across the rd, for a coffee and a bite to eat.

Thank you very much to ici et la for letting me wander around the store taking photos. It was so much fun, and I cant wait to go back and get some things for my own home as I renovate the back rooms in my own little house. I have my eye on The rustic coloured stools to go around my solid timber kitchen table, and the antique book stacks would look divine in my yet to be designed home office. Too much inspiration, now I just have to choose!
