The Langham Sydney the Face of Modern Luxury

The Langham Sydney, the face of Modern Luxury.
Now I know why
the Langham Sydney was recently named one of the top 100 hotels in the world. I
was lucky enough to experience this first hand on the weekend with some very special ladies. My dear friend and I decided it was time that our Mums deserved a bit of spoiling, so the four of us
headed into the city for a relaxing and girly 'stay cation' at the Langham Sydney. With a long afternoon high tea, luxury rooms, fluffy white robes and of course my home city was showing off yet another incredible Vivid Sydney.
The Langham is
really just what Sydney has needed, after all Sydney is a glamourous city, like
Paris, London or New York, so why shouldn’t we have the same quality hotels. After
an incredible redevelopment process in 2014, The
Langham, Sydney is now Australia’s newest and most
exclusive five star hotel, which has long been a secret haven for
A-Listers, supermodels and royalty.
GA Design out of
London played a critical part in designing every detail including every room,
structure, interior fit out and each piece of furniture inside the hotel. From
the gold and white shellac finish on the reception desk, to the multi-million
dollar spa redesign, to the expansive marble fireplaces in each public
space, to each chair, table, coffee table, bed head, chandelier, handmade rug,
interior fit out and lamp shade. There is ornate design
pieces in each room too; from Vogue hard cover books, to silver Wedgwood
bedside clocks and Kate Spade designer pieces. The rich elegant materials and
stylish features create a unique yet timeless space. And one of the few hotels in Sydney where you can sit by the open the window and soak up the fresh air and natural light. Art lovers will also enjoy the hand curated collection by Sotheby’s on the Ground Level, featuring an array of celebrated Australian artists including Sidney Nolan, Andrew Browne, Albert Tucker and Brett Whitley.
The Palm Court next to the lobby hosts an opulent Wedgwood High Tea room overlooking the Western Harbour through
Parisian style shutters. (Thank to you Michael for the incredible smoking cocktails
too!). Kent Street Kitchen led by Chef de Cuisine, Daniel Rudolph [of
est. and Guy Savoy Paris fame] serves a European chic menu on one of Sydney’s most
beautiful Chef’s Table’s – a three metre white marble table in the middle of an
open Chef’s kitchen. And what about the chairs! The little pop of
pale pink in each room, even down to the stationery in the room, and the cute little pink doggy bowl out front,
creates a feminine touch to the hotel. And I am thrilled to have finally found
the Langham signature scent spritzer that I remember from my stay in Hong Kong. And although it will never look The Langham, my house will now always smell like The Langham.
And last but not
least, I have to mention the spa. One of Sydney’s most famous spa facilities,
The Day Spa, located at the hotel has received a multi-million dollar re-design
of its own. The famous star dazzled pool, recently voted Sydney’s #1
Hotel Pool by Wotif travellers, remains intact, being the only element of the
hotel that was not changed.
I can highly recommend the Langham Sydney, whether you are just popping in for some High Tea, or staying for the weekend, its the perfect Sydney city escape and a great opportunity to take some some out with the girls. Thanks to my lovely Mum, Kim and Jeannette for all the laughs and great company. It is now an annual weekend on the calendar so let the planning begin for next year!

A huge thank you to The Ideas Suite also for this wonderful luggage from one of Belgium's premium luggage labels Hedgren. My new Formula One hard shell silver trolley bag (pictured above) was just perfect for an overnight stay, and the elegant black Adela tote bag was perfect carrier for my lap top, camera and other essentials. These have both been fantastic for my recent eat read love travel reviews. They now go everywhere with me.
